The Bharathiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) is the largest trade union organization in India and one of the most respected labor movements globally. What makes BMS unique is its non-political, nationalist approach to trade unionism, which focuses on constructive engagement and long-term solutions for worker welfare.
Key Characteristics of BMS:
- Founded in 1955 by Shri Dattopant Thengadi, a visionary labor leader and thinker.
- Operates independently of any political party, ensuring that worker issues are not politicized.
